interface 039: THE LONG DRIVE HOME

THE SYSADMIN:
This is video is visual slurry. Look at the metadata.

THE SYSADMIN:
Look at the metadata again, the hex-edits on the right hand side. You did this, at 22:46:06PM local time, keep reading.

This slick montage of captured moments in your day or week [on and off-line] instead is an expressive, non-linear, reflective dialogue between these offloaded characters performing snippets of spiraling conscious thoughts.

Get back into the metadata.

THE FAUX-SAVANT:
With a limited knowledge of the system of metadata within files, you can sort of just float throughout the inner guts of the image, sneaky and sentimental.
Somewhere to hide all those spiraling, disintegrating fragments of synapse activity in text which will affect the image in a way which cannot be explicitly understood by human eyes viewing – an untangling and hyperspeed reading of files which have been manipulated by the artist, unfolding in computer syntax to create a lossy, corrupted visual experience, held loosely together by a melody, branches of tangential dialogue and other sounds.
You created many of these individually as brief interface clips, which can be experienced rather intimately in a makeshift cathedral of consciousness – an entire room or rooms with these looping reflections of internal consciousness projected or displayed on every surface. Moving, glitching, layering, looping, arguing in a overloaded pressure chamber. This version travels throughout interfaces or scenarios and leaves traces of each in the next, the movement of one might persist through another, and so on, eventually causing the film to visually eat itself in a loop. You take a look, one last time, to review changes.
