interface 005: THE MYSTERY MAN

THE MYSTERY MAN:
Believe in the unconscious, not as a dark basement, but as a cathedral of whispers

.

Out of nowhere, a chill brushes your skin, as if an unseen hand traced your spine. The physical world itself seems to whisper a warning only you see to hear. Your vision prickles with strange images; half dream, half omen, half manifestation. They pass through you like a distant song on the wind.

““Everything you can imagine is real.”

Pablo Picasso

Yeah… that’s crazy, man.

Some knowledge arrives without explanation.

Shivers operates outside academic or even real validation. It privileges sensation, coincidence and gut responses. It trusts images that appear uninvited; the dream fragment, the intrusive thought, the symbolic repetition across unrelated contexts. The embodiment of a hat, personification of a glove, the essence of a moccasin. They can communicate with you.

The subconscious is already theorising. Surrealism here is not escapism. It is realism under pressure. When the world becomes absurd, logic alone cannot describe it. Shivers translates affect into form, and dreams and the unconscious into tangible or relatable anecdotes.

You do not invent these images.

They surface.

THE SYSADMIN:
Please reveal your source material and references for this so-called “theory.”

THE MYSTERY MAN:
No. Shut up. You manifested it in a dream. A violent dream. A nightmarish vision from which you may never recover. Bound to a cross and smothered by your Ratty baseball cap affixed usually to the top of your head; the assailant. The brand name is abbreviated to say “PLBY.” Plebby. It is a Playboy branded hat. You could hear every single object in this room scream out “I exist” if only you listened, but you hear only faint echoes bouncing from their surfaces. You should wear a much louder shirt to work tomorrow.
